[ he kisses jeff's neck again, grinning to himself against his skin. ]

[He makes a slightly put upon noise, hand settling at David's waist.]

Okay, museums are out. How's the music scene?

[hardlydead]

S'good. Varied.

[ he's now basically alternating between words and kisses. ]

Big history too. Think you'd like it.

[It's unfair because it's extremely distracting.]

Yeah? What do you think I like?

[Curious, not accusatory.]

[ good question, guess he's just gonna have to do some more kissing while he thinks about an answer. ]

Hole in the wall kinda venues? Music way too fuckin' loud for the space. Kinda place that would've stunk of cigarettes and sweat twenty years ago.

[And even if David hadn't, he's clearly just sort of talking to extend this facade of conversation here while he gets some affectionate attention here.]

[ his shoulders shake with silent laughter but honestly he'd love that. ]

Obviously he'd wanted to escape this shit before, but it's suddenly so much more personal than it's ever been. He's made out with this guy like one and a half times - stupid.

Jeff's voice drops, quiet.]

[ he lifts his head so he can look at jeff, eyes scanning his face as if he'll find some sign he's joking or lying or something. but obviously he's not. ]

[ david smiles after a moments pause, pointedly not giving up any mental real estate to the impossibility of it all. ]

[Jeff's expression is as quietly serious as it usually is.]

God, we're- weird.

[ super normal guy over here how dare you. ]

[He leans in, shifting to rest his forehead against David's shoulder. It's the gentlest melodramatic theatrics ever.]

Now I feel underprepared.

[hardlydead]

[ he laughs quietly and puts a hand on the back of jeff's head. ]

What would you've done differently?

Nothing. But I could've psyched myself up beforehand, right?

To do what? Exactly what we've been doing?
